Anthony (Tony) C. Rutz, Spirit of Golf Coach

tonyrutzTony Rutz (Boise, ID) joins Spirit of Golf as a life coach after a successful career in environmental protection and restoration and later in the nuclear energy industry. He has a long history in competitive athletics, playing and coaching baseball, basketball, football, soccer, golf, and in keeping fit through appropriate lifestyle choices.

As a Spirit of Golf Certified Instructor, Tony is on a renewed quest to be of value and service to others while utilizing the principles he has learned in part through Spirit of Golf. He completely gave up the game of golf twice, only to return each time more humbled, compassionate, contrite, sincere, and alive (and now, as he describes it, more skillful and passionate about the game that mirrors the game of life than ever before).

An engineer/scientist by nature and by academic training, Tony specializes in humor to jiggle the serious “realities” which so often complicate golf. He hopes to help players at all levels find the deep well of satisfaction that comes from conducting oneself honorably, skillfully, and playfully through the human experience both on and off the course.

Brian Creghan, Swing and Peak Performance Coach

briancreghanBrian Creghan (Havre de Grace, MD ) is a golf performance coach specializing in helping top-level amateurs and professionals realize their full potential. Although it is his foundation, Brian’s expertise extends far beyond the mechanics of the golf swing as his clients seek advice from him regarding the short game, putting, and course management strategies.

Most recently, Brian has been exposed to the science behind emotional mastery through Tim Kremer and Spirit of Golf. As a competitive player himself, Brian recognizes the emotions as a critical aspect for success at the highest levels of competitive golf.

After growing up near Philadelphia, Brian attended Guilford College in Greensboro, NC where he became an All-American for the Quakers’ golf program. Brian would then move to California where he taught at a myriad of facilities over a 9-month period. After almost a year on the west coast, Brian moved back east to embark on a professional playing career. Before long, however, his practice rounds were consumed with helping other players. Coaching is (and has always been) Brian’s passion, so it comes as no surprise that his career path has led him here.

Brian now resides in Havre de Grace, MD (with a seasonal base in South Florida), and he travels frequently to meet the needs of his professional clients. Along the way, he often stops to help top-level amateurs and club professionals.

Brian can be reached at 610-608-4898 or at briancreghan@gmail.com

Bruce Hamilton, Spirit of Golf Coach

Bruce Hamilton (Mansfield, MA) first received the gift of golf from his grandfather at age three and has been involved in the game ever since. Bruce is a certified level II United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF) associate member instructor and is working on his level III certification, to be completed in 2015. Bruce is also an instructor at the Barrie Bruce Golf School at Wentworth Hills Golf Club in Plainville, Massachusetts. Jerry Lehrman, Spirit of Golf Coach

Jerry Lehrman 200Jerry Lehrman (Minneapolis, MN) has been on a lifetime quest to better understand many of the mindful mysteries that seemed to happen only occasionally both in golf and life. He was always intrigued from unexplainable occurrences on the course that there seemed to be something more about how best to approach not only the traditional learning and playing, but most importantly the enjoyment of the game.

Despite rewarding improvements in his own play (he competed in state and national competitions) there was one piece that seemed to be missing. That led Jerry ultimately to Sprit of Golf and, with his love of teaching, he has furthered his studies to become a certified instructor in order to pass on these teachings and help others make a paradigm shift in their mental and emotional approach to golf.

Previously, Jerry was a Vice President and General Counsel of a public communications services company prior to his retirement. Most recently he helped coach a high school golf team for five years and is currently a tournament rules official for the Minnesota Golf Association. His coaching provides a number of flexible options for his students to begin developing a quantum leap to their game of golf.

Jerry resides in Minneapolis, MN and has 3 sons living in New Orleans, Boulder, and Phoenix who are on their own passionate journeys with the game of golf.

Jerry can be reached at 763-443-4455 or at jplehrman@gmail.com

Peter Croker, PGA

Portrtait Pic of Peter Croker from KTG WebsitePeter Croker, PGA (Victoria, Australia) started his passion for golf as a caddy at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Victoria at the age of 12. His search for ways to play and enjoy the challenges of the game has since remained a lifetime journey.

Peter’s time as a junior golfer culminated in winning the Queensland Junior Championship, and as a Trainee Professional he won the Trainee Championship of Victoria in 1971. He was second to Bill Dunk in the 1976 Australian PGA Championship.

In 1981, Peter formed the Australian International Golf School. He appeared in 1995 as the cover story in the Masters ‘95 Edition of Golf Digest, where the heading stated “YOUR SWING OF THE FUTURE.” Today, Joe Hallett (coach to Stacey Lewis) and Martin Chuck (Master Instructor with Revolution Golf) credit Peter as having a strong influence on their coaching methods following their attendance of Peter’s schools and their study of his book – The Hit.

In 2007, Peter was awarded the “PGA Teacher of the Year” for the State of Victoria and is currently based at Eagle Ridge Golf Course on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia.

Peter strongly believes that all golfers wishing to enjoy and become competent in golf must first address their emotional state of mind, which is at the heart of the teachings of Spirit of Golf and where Peter and Tim Kremer first met (they have since become lifelong friends.)

Peter can be contacted through his website crokergolfsystem.com and is available to deliver schools and workshops in Australiasia, Asia, Europe, the USA, and Canada. His mobile is: +61415292549 and email is crokergolfsystem@gmail.com

Noel Flannery, Spirit of Golf Coach

noel flannery - CopyNoel Flannery joins Spirit of Golf as a Certified Instructor from Edinburgh, Scotland (“from where the game was first played,” as he loves to point out) following a highly successful career as a multiple national motorcar racing champion.

Racing cars at exceptionally high (life or death) rates of speed afforded Noel the unique perspective of a sport that requires nothing short of performing “in the Now,” providing him with a skill set that, in addition to new Spirit of Golf techniques, he uses within the professional racing community as a peak performance coach.

Today, Noel manages the operations of professional race car teams and is able to assimilate many Spirit of Golf concepts into his daily work as he mentors drivers and teams.

As a golfer who is relatively new to the sport, his progression into a single-digit handicap player is a testament to his passion for improving in every aspect of the game – physical, mental, and emotional.  When he is not busy at work or having fun at golf, Noel enjoys spending time playing snooker and relaxing with his partner, Clare.

Vikas Dan, PGA

vikas 225Vikas Dan, PGA (Slovenia, Europe) began his golf career at the age of 12. He was introduced to golf as a caddy and in just three years played to a five handicap. His greatest playing achievement was winning the title for National Amateur Champion in 1994 and finished in 11th place in the British Junior Open (Scotland).  Because he felt at home with teaching the game, he applied for professional status at age of 19 and began working as an assistant professional at Bled Golf & Country Club, one of the most well-known golf courses in Slovenia. He successfully coached youth sections and completed the PGA qualifications in five years.

As the technical and psychological aspects of the game left him frustrated, Vikas began his journey of self-discovery in the East. There he found the possibility of different “mindful” approaches to playing golf and devoted most of his time to studying and understanding how the human mind works.

In 2010, Vikas graduated from the Faculty of Tourism Studies (Portorose, Slovenia). In the same year, he published his first book entitled, “Golf from the Inside Out – A Guide through the Inner Game.” Knowledge from his book was successfully incorporated into his game and twice he ranked among the three best teaching pro’s in Slovenia. As a result he represented Slovenia at the International Team Golf Championship for golf teachers in Portugal (2011 and 2012). In 2013, Vikas successfully completed the PGA of Europe- Golf Teacher Education Program (Level 2) and is a member of Golf Academy Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Vikas has extensive experience in teaching for more than 15 years and is proud that he has been able to find a teaching approach that helps players of all handicaps and ages to overcome internal barriers. His work offers the possibility of playing a round of golf which is based on awareness and relaxed concentration.
